WAYS TO USE BLOGGING IN 6th GRADE
There are many ways that I could use blogging with my 6th grades.
1. In Reading class that meets everyday for 60 minutes, my students are expected to read everyday for 35 minutes at home and read during Reading Workshop time. On an average every 6th grade reads 25 or more books a year. Students can use a blog to record the books they read and write a short summary and review of the book.
2. In Writing class my students have time for creative writing in their writer's notebook. I can use a blog that students can publish their work that they are proud of. They could publish short poems they write or short stories.
3. My students can use a blog as a place where they can keep a running record of questions and problems that might come up during the time they are completing homework. By writing down these questions they can then have them answered the next day in class. This way they will not forget the questions they have and they can learn the information correctly once the question from the blog is presented in school.
